Vintage Steinway pianos were built with the intent to last generations. It’s an absolute pleasure to restore these Steinway grand and upright pianos back to life. Indeed the turn of the century Steinways make phenomenal instruments once fully restored, they are well worth the investment. We always carry a large selection of used Steinway grand pianos to select from.
History of Steinway
Established on March 5, 1853 by Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg Sr. at 85 Varick St, NY. The prestigious Steinway Hall opened in 1866 and was the center of New York culture until Carnegie Hall opened in 1891. By 1911, the entire Steinway manufacturing operation was located in Long Island City, NY. From that time up until World War II, Steinway was considered to be the best sounding piano during the “golden era” of piano manufacturing in the US. We have restored and sold hundreds of these “golden era” Steinways and we would agree!
