Piano Pinblock Installation

A photo of the 80 year old worn out original pinblock.

The pinblock is carefully removed.

After the original pinblock is removed from the piano it is used as a template to rough cut a new one out of new pinblock material.

The new pinblock is now fitted to the underside of the harp's flange by using various wood trimmers.

The harp and new pinblock are now flipped over.

All the screw holes and tuning pin holes are center drilled so they can be drilled out on the drill press table.

Now all the tuning pin holes and plate screw holes holes are carefully drilled.

Old and new pinblock side by side.

The new pinblock is now glued and doweled into the proper position inside the pianos "belly".
